If I knew Then
What I know Now
Well all I can say
Is Wow

Back Then,
It Was what it Was
And Now,
It Is what it Is
And never the two shall meet

Do I regret any of the Was
Not for a moment
For the Lessons learned from Was
Led me to the Is of Now

The Light of Life
Of the Human Spirit
Can Shine Bright as the Noonday Sun
Or Dim as the Farthest Star
Depending on the path we choose

And so it is with
Then, or Now
We are mostly rooted either
In the Was of the Past
Or embrace the Is of Now

In the Now,
The Then is not our Friend,
Sadly, too many times,
The Then lives in our Now
Hindering the Light of Life
And the Free Will of the Human Spirit

So what will it be,
If the Light of Life
Shines Bright or Dim
How Bright is that Light
If our Now Is,
The Was of our Past

As Omar Khayyam,
(Persian Poet, Scientist and Philosopher)
Famously Wrote:

“The Moving Finger writes and having writ,
Moves on; nor all your piety nor wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
Nor all your tears wash out a word of it.”
